A new - and the first challenge of this year - is ready for you seafarers.

This time the challenge consists of bodyweight exercises that everybody can do with minimal space. In the challenge, you will find both cardio- and strength-based workouts. You will also find that there's a bit of teamwork, too. So, grab your best colleague or someone who could benefit from a little push and do the workout together. Working out together is a great way to strengthen the community on board. When you do something besides your regular schedule and see each other struggle or push yourselves as well as sweating, it contributes to a feeling of community. Not to mention, physical activity positively affects your mood and clears your mind. Even short workouts will have a positive effect on both your mental as well as your physical health.

This month you might recognize two names on the board, chief engineer Michael Thinnesen and captain Blazej Bakalarczyk. Both seafares are great ambassadors for an active and fit life at sea. Michael and Blazej do work out by themselves, but they also include the crew in challenges like these ones and try to motivate others to a healthy life at sea. You might remember them from our Christmas Challenge last year, where Blazej did the daily workout and posted it on our Instagram page. Michael Thinnesen was a front figure at Team Gijon Knutsen, where he made sure that the crew gathered and did the daily workout together. They are both great motivators and an inspiration to other seafarers. In this challenge, they have contributed with their "favourite" bodyweight exercises to do on board and we named the workouts after them. Thank you, guys! We appreciate and respect the hard work you put in the gym and what you do for the community on board.

Enjoy and have fun with the challenge. If you are on social media, we would love to cheer on you. Tag #Fit4SEA and @shwsocial to let us know you are in and up for a challenge!
